I have a somewhat unique situation in that I do not have a garage or a carport, but I do have a small barn.
I plan on upgrading to a Marin Presidio 3 soon. There will probably long periods of time (say 2-4 weeks) where the bike won’t be ridden. The challenge of a barn is that things tend to degrade in there unless they are protected. Lots of dust/dirt, spiderwebs, critters, that sort of thing.
Looking for an suggestions of how I can store the bike to minimize damage from the immediate environment.
The 2-4 week periods are nothing. Just wheel it in there, secure your barn best that you can (this is your biggest concern), and otherwise move on with your day.
It’s when you store it for long periods, that you need to think more strategic. And that really just means somewhere dry. I have to overwinter my bikes for instance, so they just come in the house and lean against the wall, and other than having to pump up the tires, it’s completely in the same shape as it was six months ago.
Thank you everyone for the ideas. Based on these suggestions, I will likely go with hanging the bike on a couple hooks by the frame, then cover it with a tarp that does a reasonably good job covering it up without being too bulky.
For me the easiest, cheapest solution would be to hang the bike on a hook, like that.
Any kind of hook could do.

A raised spot to park it like on a pallet and a bbq or motorbike cover that you can tighten around the bottom should suffice
The environment kinda matters some, but I’d say just set it up on some cinder blocks or a hook or something, cover it, and you’ll pretty much be fine. If you don’t have a bike bag/cover, you can make one easily by cutting up trash bags and connecting them with packing tape. If you want a more durable cover, buy contractor grade bags, trash compactor bags, or just buy a bike bag.
Be sure to check over everything before you ride again, but a month isn’t that long really.
I would throw a sufficiently sized tarp over the bike. If you want to go crazy, you could also build a „cabinet“ and hang the bike inside.
