I don’t and it doesn’t matter. Now is all there is anyway.
Refusing to reduce complex reality into slogans and clichés since 19XX

I obviously want to set the filters myself.

How exactly is Facebook the answer to what I’m asking?

Is Elon hoarding money because he owns multiple succesfull companies?
I don’t think so. Hoarding means sitting on a pile of something that you don’t use/need.

The serious people are here already. I just want to silence the rest.
Consuming news is passive - I’d rather engage in discussing the solutions.

Rich people don’t hoard cash. They have assets that are valuable. A billionaire doesn’t have a billion dollars on their bank account. Hell, they probably don’t even have a million in there. All that wealth is tied to investments that either increases in value or for the very least holds it.
Making money is incredibly easy if you have a lot of money to begin with. Going from zero to million is hard. Going from million to a hundred million, not so much.

This comment section gave me brain damage.

I don’t think can be taught. At least not on a video. You just do it at it’ll get easier over time. I’ve been doing it for about 20 years and I went from “this is impossible” to “what even was hard about this” in just a year or so.

Depends more on their biological sex, not what they identify as.

Dying alone. Not living alone or growing old alone but dying alone.
I dunno - it’s just quite sad to think being in hospice alone, knowing that the end is near and nobody but the nurses comes to check on you.

I’ve been taught that just means “hi,” so I respond “good,” which also means hi.

Nobody gets rich or stays rich by hoarding money. That’s not what being wealthy means.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
That’s probably the most Lemmy-approved answer I’m ever going to give to a question here.

I feel a bit uneasy around mushrooms.

If it’s a 3-hour-old account, I don’t worry about it.
If they have extensive post history and it doesn’t seem awfully toxic, and their modlog doesn’t indicate that this is a habit for them, then I might just assume they’re having a bad day and let it slide this time while hiding the thread.
It usually doesn’t take many repeats of them posting about kids of rich people street racing or a single mother asking about her teenage son’s erections or whatever before I go “this guy again??” At that point I just block them.
You and me. Together. Tonight.

I don’t know why one would expect Lemmy to be different when it’s entire userbase consists of ex-redditors.
I don’t think there’s much difference between platforms. Everyone is performing to either get pats on the back or to stirr up something. The moment everyone around you seems nice is when you’ve entered the echo chamber.

If it’s your yard you should be allowed to have an overgrown jungle if you so wish.
Echo chamber isn’t inherently a bad thing. It only becomes such when you don’t know you’re in one and are getting delusional because of it.
