Bitcoin in specific doesn’t scale, but other things like Bitcoin Cash scale without increasing the energy usage, because the energy cost of PoW Blockchains comes from their security, not from the scale, so doing 1 or thousands of transactions costs the same.
Plus, things like Ethereum have migrated to PoS which uses very small amount of energy comparable and also scales without increasing energy costs.

I agree with you, but concert tickets was a bad example, as that is easily centralizable. My go-to example to make people have a grasp of the type of problems this solves is games.
Imagine there was a store where you could buy games and activate them on any store you want to by only paying a small fee, for example you buy the game on that store and can activate the game on Steam, Playstation and Xbox only by paying the fees on each of them. This would allow people to essentially cross-buy games which is good for customers as it means they can move platforms or stores easier, it’s good for game devs because their games would get more views across the board and their percentage is clean, and it’s good for the stores because they get a clean cut of the cake when someone wants to activate a key.
Why can’t this be done with traditional methods? Because there’s no central authority on who owns a game, Valve has no reason to trust Sony and vice-versa. And even if you propose creating such centralized authority others might not trust it. A smart contract is transparent and auditable, requires no trust from any party and acts as a decentralized source of truth.
Hey, I’ve been using silverbullet for a year or so. The first thing that I will say is that if you don’t care for client/server I would suggest just keep markdown files in a folder, that’s very portable and there are tons of plugins for editors to track that, that’s what I was doing before Silverbullet, and way before that it was org-mode which I still miss a few features sometimes. I’ve never used LogSeq, for any extended period so can’t talk about specifics there.

I theoretically have Diun setup, but realistically I just run my Ansible playbook weekly and have most containers set to latest. I agree with this 100%, if you need Photoshop then you also need Windows or Mac, the things that Gimp/Krita can’t do are probably less than what you might lose by random bugs going this route. Most people who use Photoshop don’t need it though, and could do 100% of the things they do in either Gimp or Krita.

Not really, but this is a reply to most comments here about the video so without seeing the video and reading some of the other comments you are missing a lot of context. In the video Linus shows several different sites that recommend Pop, he even looks for recent sites written by people specifically because he got some bad comments about using listacle articles before. He also asks chatGPT, and while that’s not exactly reliable it is based on average messages online so it’s not fully random. Also, like I pointed out, the community we’re using to discuss this also lists is as recommended, which goes to show it’s not a fluke of the sites he used but that it is generally recommend broadly.
