I think the reality is darker. Whoever sells the guns convinces dickheads like the ones pictured above that they can win their own little favourite war in 40 mins max - if only they buy the new EnemySmasher3000! It’s all marketing. Somebody gets rich. Us NPCs suffer.

You can’t replace a translator with AI. It has to be AI + a human to fix the crappy AI output. Guess what ends up being cheaper? I didn’t change careers, and they’re hiring translators again. Bubble is bursting.
