Every worry I’ve heard about EVs was debunked within a couple of months of owning one. I will NEVER go back to owning an ice car.

So much more efficient, so much easier, no more gas stations, and I use it for road trips. All the worry about them has obviously been fed by oil/gas companies because they don’t want people figuring out how much nicer EVs are.

Because they refuse to see games as a creative artform. Or, they think they ate, but then do the worst corpo bs to them. This all reeks of some boardroom joining all their MBAs together to come up with this brilliant shit covered plan.

I mean it’s simple. It was a ploy to attract younger people into working for them, for long hours, less pay than they deserved, and never once to think about a union. All while they did everything they could to flood the market with more talent to deliver down costs.

Amazon and Microsoft never once gave a shit about women coders, or impoverished urban kids coding. They wanted to boost the number of coders to make the job normal, a lower salary that now you’re fighting over everyone else to get. And here we are.

Them removing the fun is just the final step of the plan. No more charade. Get your ass in here and work, and after you’ve given up your nights and weekends you better say thank you.

I’m optimistic about this. She has a deep passion for games and who makes th, she doesn’t like corpos but knows how to work in their system. Could be good.

They can kick and scream as much as they want. Oil is proving to not be viable unless it is subsidized or forced by governments. Green energy is here to stay whether they like it or not, and even moreso, it doesn’t need subsidies. It was nice when it had them, but even without its still the better option.

What you point out is accurate. I was raided Christian, and a huge thing I have learned is that there is a massive difference between the bible and what the church preaches. Organized religion is the thing that is normally talked about in discussions like this, but the bible itself is fairly straightforward. Love one another. Be a good person. Don’t scorn or judge others. The church added all the extra crap to it.

I totally agree, but hopefully with some advocacy we can get it from 99 to 98%. Doesn’t sound like much, but that’s 2 million people who have switched then, and whoever else may live in their house using their non-routers.

Routers are incredibly simple. You can run your own using openwrt or opnsense. Then some dumb switches and access points and you’re good to go.

Yep, also likely is someone is driving and can’t park their ultra power diesel 4x4 placebo truck into their garage and demands the hoop be taken down, running over a kid optional in that case, and karens all get together saying how dangerous it is for kids to be playing in the street.

OR, old couple get mad at children laughing, they control the HOA with an iron fist, and pass new bylaws saying no obstacles in parking spaces or something. Kids go back to loitering at gas station and causing trouble, so older people can say “kids these days, never play outside anymore”.

I’m jaded, but as an example. We had a youth center that our town made for kids so they wouldn’t be hooligans and have a place for them. Well, the seniors noticed this nice open building was just empty, claimed it was a waste of money, and started going there during school days. Which started fine, until eventually they stayed later and later until school got out and those pesky kids came by. So naturally, the seniors demanded that it no longer be a youth center but instead a senior center. So it was changed. Ending of that story is eventually those seniors got bored, stopped going, and now it sits empty.

Oh he’s clearly very desperate for the hype to keep going. His ass is literally on the line. (I mean, golden parachute, but he’ll never work again), so no more infinite money glitch.

I forget who said it, but if AI doesn’t literally surpass all current realms of thinking and automate everything, i.e. what they promised, it has failed. To the investors it means it failed. With that, the stock does not continue up exponentially, which to investors also means it failed. Then they demand he resign, and they put someone else in there.

He could have stayed realistic through the whole thing. “Hey everyone, we’re learning day by day, and we’re proud to be the chipmakers to bring this to you.” Modest growth, but sustainable long term growth. Instead they drank the kool-aid full on, and said that it’ll cure all disease and wipe out hunger and everything else. Now he’s freaking out because all of the latest ideas are duds, people aren’t buying the hype anymore, and that means Jensen might be looking at the end of his tenure.

Mass Effect is the best/worst when it comes to this. It’s such a good game, and you join up and befriend your squad, you go through so many things to get to the ending, and then it’s over. You put down the headphones, you get up, and stand alone in your kitchen for 20 minutes, realizing that it is over.
