As unpopular as the opinion is, I cannot and will not distinguish between incompetence and malice. Incompetence isn’t making a mistake, it’s making the same mistakes repeatedly and never learning from them. Incompetence requires malice.

Many Republican voters are actually bad people that are racist or misogynist, or incredibly dumb, or incredibly selfish, or a combination.

The conservative machine that owns everything has fully captured their audience through the greatest propaganda system in the history of the world, and it’s been wildly successful. Fox, Newsmax, OANN, TPUSA, and others, all funded by Heritage, CPAC, and many many venture capital extremists like Peter Thiel, Andreeson Horowitz and others.

I don’t believe anyone is a “bad person”. This is a subjective value. I think people are misguided, mislead and traumatized. It is possible for these people to have been some other way if they had been given a good education or had been protected from trauma/allowed to process their trauma.

Capitalism has traumatized us all. Don’t let it divide the proletariat.

Yeah I’m not gonna get into the whole Problem of Evil debate. In this case I’m saying a bad person is one who values only themselves to the detriment of everyone else, and in practice these racist, misogynist fearful bigots are doing actions that harm others, so they’re bad people.

Yeah but those values develop in response to a world that doesn’t value them. So most people realize that the world doesn’t care about them, so they come to the conclusion that they shouldn’t care about other people. It’s actually not unreasonable.

It takes a real mature person to understand that those behaviors are the result of the system and to think that the system needs changing.

What I’m saying is I think it’s possible for these people to be redeemed. We have to give of ourselves more than we’ll get back to teach the world that there are other ways of being that aren’t selfish. And everyone has to be included in that future version of the world.

Oh there are definitely people who aren’t coming back from this cult. I watch “The Necessary Conversation” podcast on youtube and the MAGA parents are fully gone. Until Newsmax gets [redacted] the ruling elite has a solid hold on the cult.

We can debate the percentages of MAGA that are still redeemable, but it’s much lower than you’d hope.

Yes. I would argue that with the technology as it is, it’s wayyy more efficient at getting a large group of people to act in a certain way.

I’m non-republican in a family full of Republicans. I love my family. The thing they lack is empathy and foresight. They care about people of all religions, races, sexualities, etc. Just not when they’re people they don’t know. My grandmother is gay, we all love her. But some random gay person half the country away? They just don’t care. They lack the foresight to realize the gay person THEY know could well be next. Like the immigrants, we’re friends with plenty of immigrants, and the news tells them that bad things only happen to bad immigrants, so surely that wouldn’t mean OUR friends. Spoiler: it does. They see protests on the news being framed as terrorists, and wonder why the police aren’t being even harsher with them. Without wondering what it’d be like if those protestors were in our city, and people we know were being beaten like dogs. They live in their own world, it’s not as if they don’t care. They just only care when it’s the people around THEM, it’s literally the “oh shit the leopards ate MY face??”

Im not sure how representative my family in particular is, I’m sure there are plenty of Republicans who are genuinely just racist, sexist, etc against even people in their own community. But yeah, the propaganda runs deep.

Dumb & Selfish are required, plus at least one of racist and misogynist.
