    Get a job you like.

People get into a trap where they think that all jobs are the same.

I used to think I hated working, and then lucked into a job that actually used my skills and talents.

A job that makes person A happy might be completely wrong for someone else.

I am honestly not sure I can enjoy anything I have to wake up at a set time to go in for 8+ hours at least 5 days a week. every day, every week, every month, every year.

Look into the mirror and slap yourself, murmurring “I want this, I WANT this”. Then play a soft soulful version of we’re not gonna take it and then proceed to work whilst taking it

One of the silver-linings of the whole COVID thing is that we finally got to WFH. When the pressure to return to the office started, I was among the first to volunteer to come in 3 days a week and chose Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. This arrangement has remained and I’ve gotta say, WFH on Mondays really takes the edge off. I feel productive (sort of), yet the week feels less jarring when kicking it off from my own house.

Same with the Friday wind-down. Great to be at home on the last day of the week with no commute so you can get an early entry to the weekend.

Keep busy, not that it’s a choice mostly. But I don’t need to make it “bearable”. It’s a day like any other.
